Perspective is everything...

I have the privilege of serving and teaching in rural communities around the globe, but I find myself learning something new each time that I travel. For many, guinea pigs are a cute, household or classroom pet. In a poverty-stricken community, they are so much more. They serve as a means to generate income as well as a source of nutrition, where the evidence of chronic malnutrition is easily recognizable. Sometimes we need to walk alongside others to see through their lenses to help us be more compassionate and to find solutions to ongoing challenges to make the world a better place.
